RE: No respect

It's hard to work for someone who clearly does not respect your opinions and knowledge. It sounds like your boss may feel threatened by your knowledge because as you stated, you are more educated than he/she is. While I doubt your boss will ever show you the kind of respect you are looking for, I'd suggest taking advantage of the work experience you can gain from working in your current job and after some time, begin looking for a new job where your abilities will be more appreciated. Good luck.

RE: No respect

Perhaps it is the way you "suggest" the idea.  I have found that no matter how much education or experience you may have in that field, the boss is always right and your not.  I have been in my line of work a year longer than my boss has been on this earth. But you must relize that they are the boss/owner..

So again how are you suggesting the idea. Is it as though you know it all, or in the manner of what the heck are you doing, believe me it can get you in trouble.  Changing your approach may help.

RE: No respect

People can be so jealous and competitive. I have worked with so many people who can't stand it if you know something that they don't. It's not that we make them feel that we are more educated, but it's that resent it because they are immature and want to be in charge.  If someone tells me something that I don't know, I'm glad to hear it! Isn't that how we learn??? I would go with another company that would appreciate the knowledge that you come with. Good for you! Isn't this what employers want, or would they rather have people working for them that stand around not knowing what to do and say?
