Need help with hearing, lost 60% both ears, aids ...

I lost my hearing 7 years ago in one ear due to a virus and incorrect advice from a Dr..   I have a cochlear implant and couldn't be happier with it.  Yes there are some negatives to it but the positives are so much more that I can't imagine not having it.  I also have a hearing aide in my left ear.  If I had to rely on the hearing aide I would go crazy.  I have been told that there are some pretty good hearing aides out there and you do have a trial period to see if you like them but the implants are just more advanced.  You still will have a difficult time in restaurants, movie theatres and any other places where the sound is loud.  I have closed caption on my tv and can't hear music but have been told that there are many individuals who have the implant that can hear musice and do not use cc to watch tv.  Everyone is different.  It's definitely worth looking into.

Hello I have also lost most of my hearing (95%) both ears. No idear why and I am 56. I have tried many different aids and thought they were all useless until I found someone who really took the time to show me new advanced digital hearing aids. This new aid sits deeply inside your ear and almost touches your ear drum. They are probably 3/4`s of an inch longer then any hearing aid you have ever seen. They have different settings that you control and  avolumme control also. I still have some problems in wide open spaces you loose sounds and alot of backgound noice will make talking to someone difficult, but. These aids are fantastic. I am able to talk to people again instead of just nodding my head and not hearing anything at a party or family gathering.  Without them I cannot even hear my own voice anymore.  IMPLANTS are a last resort-try these aids first.
