I must firmly agree with the answers warning against Afrin, Neosynephrine, as well as other like products.  When I tried and finally did get off of Neosynephrine, I thought that I was going to smother for lack of air, so it is not easy to get unhooked.

I found a small device that looks like a small Alladen"s Lamp at a majpr drug store, and I have since seen several more brands and configurations of this type of device.  The kit consists of the little plastic "lamp" and 10 or 15 packets of sodium cloride (salt) and some other ingreedient; however, it is not the ingredent that really accomplishes anything, although the salt does keep treated water from burning your nose until you get used to it. I purchased a small seller of popcorn salt to avoid buying the little prepackaged ingredient that would like you to buy.  This is not nearly as tough as it sounds, but you fill the lamp as per instructions and then lean over you bathroom sink with your lrft ear toward the drain and pour the ingredient into you right nostral; then you do the opposit by putting your right ear over the drain and pour the ungredient into the left nostral.

You will not believe the results untill you have seen them; uck, but it will clear your sinuses.
