God did not give me the spirit of fear, but that of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  11Timothy 1:7

Are you planning on attending a church that teaches the plan of salvation?  Or do you just want to get away from the Catholic Church?  If you are interested in attending another church, then I would not do anything.  Just go to the church of your choice.  Receive Jesus and live a happy life in your new surroundings.  The Catholic church does not own you.  You are a free willed person and can attend the Church of your choice.  The truth awaits you.  Some of the best Christians I have known, are people who left the Catholic church and became born again Christians.  They are, in their testimonies, very happy they are away from false teachings.  Hope you resolve this and move on to a church were you will be happy.  God Bless.

Maybe if you shared, your testimony, maybe the Priest might see the Light and get converted and leave too! II Cor 4:4 for all those following False Teachings no matter, what they are!,  if their interested in Eternal Life.

Be honest and be true to yourself.

You don't have to do anything to renounce the Catholic religion.

Just don't go to church, don't pray, don't do anything spiritual.

Roman Catholicism and other orthodox Christian religious sects believe they have replaced the Jews as the people of God. Someone could believe it before 1948 but after 1948, after Israel became a nation again on the earth what is the relevance of their belief?

The former Pope John Paul II asked forgiveness from the people of India, China and so on for the atrocities their religion committed on the people.

Is this religion really a Christian one ? It is a rather a kingdom having its own geographical territory (Vatican), its own citizens (Roman Catholics), ambassadors the world over. Who can refute it?

It is high time you leave this kingdom and reach the Church.

You cannot renounce the catholic religion but the catholic religion can "renounce" you, by excommunicating you. All you have to do is to become an apostate by embracing another religion. However choose a religion you can easily renounce, for instance, become a Mormon.

behold my servant whom I uphold;in whom my soul delighteth; i have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgement to the gentiles

he shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgement in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

i think if you don't want to burn bridges with this church you must go and talk to a local bishop about this. i am not catholic, but i do know that they copied alot of the hebrew ideals, like tradition of the fathers of the faith, etc. they pray to inanimate objects( idoltary) and believe the story about how mary is now the queen of heaven and her and all those dead saints have some kind of power. sorry folks, these people are dead! they cannot help you, and actually going as far as to pray to statues and charms and roseraies and the graven cross symbol will lead you into sin, not salvation. many people are being decieved by this sin.so, to answer your question, if you want to go back to it, it would be best for you to talk to a bishop at their office. don't worry, if you are not tithing directly to them, they will not try to talk you out of it.
