You cannot renounce the catholic religion but the catholic religion can "renounce" you, by excommunicating you. All you have to do is to become an apostate by embracing another religion. However choose a religion you can easily renounce, for instance, become a Mormon.

behold my servant whom I uphold;in whom my soul delighteth; i have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgement to the gentiles

he shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgement in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

i think if you don't want to burn bridges with this church you must go and talk to a local bishop about this. i am not catholic, but i do know that they copied alot of the hebrew ideals, like tradition of the fathers of the faith, etc. they pray to inanimate objects( idoltary) and believe the story about how mary is now the queen of heaven and her and all those dead saints have some kind of power. sorry folks, these people are dead! they cannot help you, and actually going as far as to pray to statues and charms and roseraies and the graven cross symbol will lead you into sin, not salvation. many people are being decieved by this sin.so, to answer your question, if you want to go back to it, it would be best for you to talk to a bishop at their office. don't worry, if you are not tithing directly to them, they will not try to talk you out of it.

yeah, good idea! the holy bible says that the sprinkle baptism is wrong, or rather it has a very specific right way to do it. submersed, and in jesus name ( not the generic father son holy spirit thing that does not use His name in it at all!). i hereby revoke your sprinkle baptism(that was copied from the levite blood sprinkling) in that it has no power now or anytime previous or ahead! you are absolved of your idoltorous sin as soon as you repent for it. Amen.

You don't have to do anything to renounce the Catholic religion.

Just don't go to church, don't pray, don't do anything spiritual.

I will tell you what I did.  I wrote a letter to the church where I was babtized requesting them to remove me from their roll as a member. I explained what teachings and doctrines I was most against and other reasons I was denouncing my faith. I also wrote the same letter to the church where I was married requesting they remove me as well. They do have your name on a list, either on the top with the one giving the most money or not on at all... Best thing is to write them to make sure you are removed
