for me the bible is not just about spiritual matters. it is about the actual situation in our daily life. i mean it is about both spiritual and material. the core message of the bible is the kingdom of god. the old testament is longing for it and the new testament is preaching it that it has aleady come in the works of jesus. the kingdom of God longed before has now come. the people naturaly asked him where or howcome? this is the reason why Jesus performed miracles as proof that he fulfilled the kingdom of god. he healed all the diseases and sickness of the people. he expelled the demons, he bring the dead back to life, he forgive sins, he satisfies their longing for joy (turning water into wine). through these miracles he showed to the people that the kingdom of god has now come. through these miracles we can also understand what kind of salvation and what kind of a kingdom has long been awaited and was fulfilled by jesus. the salvation that jesus deed is salvation from suffering, salvation from sin and condemnation, salvation from death. the kigndom of god is a kingdom without suffering, a kingdom without sin and demonic influence, a kingdom without death. a kingdom compose of king and his people fully alive without suffering of diseases and injustices and death and a people who love one another. he was crusified because they cannot accept that the one who was able to fulfill it was not one of them but was just a carpenter, not a priest, not a king, not belonging to any religious group like the pharisees and the saducees. only a carpenter in the neigborhood claimed to fulfill the kingdom of god. IMPOSTOR, BLASPHEMER. they put the words King of the Jews over his cross as his crime commited.
