It is unfortunate that Man can misinterpret what God teaches so badly that they engage in horrible deeds.  However, it's important that we all remember this is MAN'S flaw, not God's.  Now, I cannot speak for non-Christian religions, for I do not know what they teach.  However, I can speak to you from a Christian perspective.

Following Jesus Christ's teachings properly will lead any man/woman/child along the right path.  A path of compassion, love, honor, truth, forgiveness, patience, charitable behavior and the ability to stay strong under the most aggressive pressures of the world.  The problem we have is that some fall victim to temptation and skew God's message.  Those people mislead others and then, even more people begin to misinterpret their actions as the actions of God.  The two are not even on the same playing field, however.

My father is an atheist and therefore, I see first-hand the frustrations, misconceptions and distrust he experiences.  He relies upon himself only and thinks faith is God is absurd.  Regardless, I love him and pray for his conversion continually.  I want him to know peace, safety and compassion.  I want him to know that being "of God" means good things, not bad.  I wish the very same for you and all those who have been misled.

Peace be with you and I hope that perhaps this has given you another insight.

Chris

The lowest servant in Heaven is still in Heaven.

Whoever rules in hell is still in hell, but they won't rule for long.

Despite an assortment of insulting denial games, here is the primary things that atheists all hate to such distraction.

Read along with me from Matthew 5:3--12;

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.  Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted.  Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.  Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.  Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.  Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.  Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.  Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.  Blessed are you, when people revile you and persecute you and say all manner of evil against you falsely for My sake.  Rejoice and be exceeding glad, for so they persecuted the prophets who came before you . . .."

Atheists hate the mention of the Sermon on the Mount because it speaks to the heart.  Any mention of a future, or of comfort, or of hope, sends atheists into a towering rage because they intend to deny us all these priceless things and will stop at nothing to accomplish their dubious goals.

The atheist religion is the strictest and most sanctimonious cult that ever existed, and clearly, the least logical.  Do they gain comfort from all their acerbic cynicism?  Do they find hope by playing denial games that fall apart under logical scrutiny?

Or does it go a little deeper than that?

Might it be that atheists will stop at nothing to get their way, no matter how poorly considered was their course of action?

Because of the draconian games of Madalyn Murray O'Hair, morality and prayer were absolutely forbidden in all public schools.  Now, because of atheist fanatics, your kids stand a very bad chance of contracting AIDS in school, because they use dirty needles.

Atheists are the first to prove that opiates are the religion of the atheists.

Removing prayer in school is not the same as removing morality, using dirty needles, using opiates and contracting AIDS. Fact is that the prisons have very few Atheists. They do have huge numbers of Christians. Most of the drug addicts are Christians. Most of the prisoners with HIV are also Christians. Muslims are getting a fair number from their population to also be incarcerated in larger and larger numbers. Belief in god is not protective nor preventive. Matthew in scripture has been the "opiate of the people" as per Karl Marx. The scriptures have been used for centuries to keep the oppressed masses under control. Often religion helps those who are oppressed, repressed and depressed. There you go again pretending that you know of god's existence and his intentions as well as what the intentions of Atheists may be.

Please allow me Rocmike 3 to explain what an Atheist is for you and the readers at Yedda. Atheism is not a cult nor a religion. It is a conclusion about your claims that the holy books (Bible, Koran, and Torah) are so profound and prescient of humanities needs that they could only have been written by an omniscient being. An atheist is simply a person who has entertained this claim, read the books, and simply found the claims to be ridiculous. You will find I have no religious dogma. There is nothing I have to believe on insufficient evidence in order to reject the biblical god. In contrast, you have to believe things on insufficient evidence to support your claims there is an omniscient, omnipotent and all-merciful god. From his reported words and works I am unimpressed. If you were an omnipotent god, you could do better! Couldn't you?

Dear Fuck off--I don't care for your moniker but if it works for you that is all that counts. I agree with Woody Allen, "Not only is there no god, try finding a plumber on a weekend." I also agree with George Carlin who said, "I have found Jesus, not as my savior, but a man I want to borrow money from." God is dead! The onus probandi rests with the ones who make the affirmative claim that there is a god. We must tolerate those who are delusional and believe that they have to pray in certain directions, eat certain foods, turn the other cheek and blow up buildings and people. I guess they would have ignored the flying of passenger planes into the World Trade Center. Seems like religious folk did 911 too. They wanted their martyrdom reward of 72 virgins. I hope Muslims get their virgins and they are all men. God is a failed hypothesis. Fuck off, you did a good job of showing your passion. Go to atheists.org to join the American Atheist Association. The only reason the the three fanatical Middle Eastern religions have their current flavor is because there were no asylums in Jerusalem. Even today the United Nations should rope off the Holy Land and declare and certify it an asylum.

My secular view of the creation of man is through evolution not supernatural creation. My secular view of the creation of the Universe is through evolution from the Big Bang. The latter occurred from a spontaneous fluctuation of a quantum field in the nothingness of space. It was random and causeless. Even now scientists discovered that subatomic fluctuations occur in empty space as particles move into and out of existence. Homo Sapiens have not been around very long. In time, the scientists will have even better answers. The metaphysical era will be ending just like the flat Earth period ended. The future generations will view Christ just like we now view Apollo and Zeus. Whirlwind --I hardly need your help. You need help with your delusional self. You are probably to old to change. You should enjoy your religion and Jesus because it is comforting to you. It doesn't matter if Jesus never existed or if he were not divine. To me Jesus was a man with strong beliefs until he became skeptical and agnostic--"Father, why hath thou forsaken me." You will also be abandoned in the same way. Why? There is no invisible guy in the sky monitoring and recording 6.5 billion earthlings to determine if they are bad or good, unless you believe in Santa.

It  is said that 86% of Americans believe in  God.
Therefore, it is very hard to understand
why there is such a mess about having the  Ten Commandments on display or 'In God We Trust'  on our money and having God in the Pledge of  Allegiance. Why don't we just tell the other 14% to Sit Down and SHUT  UP!!!
