It is unfortunate that Man can misinterpret what God teaches so badly that they engage in horrible deeds.  However, it's important that we all remember this is MAN'S flaw, not God's.  Now, I cannot speak for non-Christian religions, for I do not know what they teach.  However, I can speak to you from a Christian perspective.

Following Jesus Christ's teachings properly will lead any man/woman/child along the right path.  A path of compassion, love, honor, truth, forgiveness, patience, charitable behavior and the ability to stay strong under the most aggressive pressures of the world.  The problem we have is that some fall victim to temptation and skew God's message.  Those people mislead others and then, even more people begin to misinterpret their actions as the actions of God.  The two are not even on the same playing field, however.

My father is an atheist and therefore, I see first-hand the frustrations, misconceptions and distrust he experiences.  He relies upon himself only and thinks faith is God is absurd.  Regardless, I love him and pray for his conversion continually.  I want him to know peace, safety and compassion.  I want him to know that being "of God" means good things, not bad.  I wish the very same for you and all those who have been misled.

Peace be with you and I hope that perhaps this has given you another insight.

Chris

It is a pity that F.O. has not yet completed a degree, and obviously lacks the discipline to complete even a BA or BS degree.  He may claim the contrary but his use of juvenalian obscenity proves that he is just plain dangerous and you certainly do not want him (or any of his ilk) around your kids.

Because we proved Divine Creation repeatedly and rigorously so many times in the past, it is therefore undeniable that he has never done the research necessary to sustain any of his inane "points of atheist indoctrination."

Offbeat religions like the atheist cult have always been a symbol of ignorance and hate.  They must remain so for all eternity because no atheist has an education -- because if they ever did, they could not remain atheists.

However, there are a number of disabling psychiatric conditions whose indications are the tenets of atheist cult indoctrination.

Does it matter that the atheist cult is in discredit on an empirical mathematical basis and rigorously proved false by innumerable lab experiments?

The only thing we need to know about atheist cult supremacists is that they will automatically reject scientific proof that discredits their occult religious dogma.

That is the true proof of occult religious mania.

It is truly an exclusive to the discredited atheist supremacist cult.

Nothing that they preach to the contrary ever made sense, which is why they think their oddball religious quirks are "amusing."

We who know the Lord know the truth.

Rocmike/Whirlwind are pretending to know about a god and his intentions. Pretending and hypocrisy are the lifeblood of religion. The burden of proof is upon the believer to prove god's existence. I cannot disprove the existence of a god, tooth fairy or the spaghetti monster. Atheism is not a superstition or a religion. Atheists merely reviewed the Bible carefully and your claims that it is so brilliant that it had to be written by an omniscient Being. We find such claims to be ridiculous. The Bible is a book about violence, slavery, and mass murder. It powered the Crusades and Inquisition like the Koran powers the Jahad. Retarded civilizations do progress over time to become cooperative and peaceful. With the three Abrahamic texts the clerics just learn to ignore the violence and absurdity in the Bible. If you like Blaise Pascal's Wager then you throw in with god because this way you avoid the eternal penalty and have a higher probability of eternal life in paradise. But in the words of Woody Allen, "Not only is there no god, try finding a plumber on the weekend." Atheism is merely a conclusion that there is insufficient evidence to support a belief in a god. We believe the Bible, Koran and Torah etc are absurd! We have no religious dogma! You religious books do. You cannot hide from the claims that are totally inconsistent with common sense. The world is moving away from the metaphysical era. Either read modern science and catch up or be left behind.

Rocmike--You really present a poor defense of your religion. Making false claims about lab experiments discrediting Atheism is rather lacking in professionalism. In the science and academic community you would not get a way with that kind of hypocrisy and pretension. May I suggest you read two books written for the believer? Language of God by Dr Francis Collins and The Evolution of God by Robert Wright. If you have not read these two books then you cannot have the debating skills to defend your dogmatic and faith based thinking. I do not agree with these author-believers but at least they have a contemporary argument. Dr Collins is the stronger believer of the two authors. Wright is a lot closer to neutral. Dr. Collins will critique religious arguments and then will inform you what is the best religious positions to hold consistent with science and scriptures. Dr Collins is a Christian and religious scientist. If you rely on even just one of these two books you will have an impressive argument that is harder to argue against.

Jeremiah 23:19
Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked

Physicalist,

God does not need defending.

Your brain does not rule your body, in your case you let it.

Without a heart your brain cannot function, nor any other part of your body.

God is in the heart.  That is where we believers find him.

I agree with you Whirlwindflower. God's existence cannot be proven but there are those who are prone to wishful thinking and fear death. I cannot deal with irrationalism and fundamentalism. I cannot believe in extraterrestrials as supernatural beings. I just have a problem believing on faith in ghosts, miracles, gods, angels and demons. When people have been exposed to early childhood indoctrination the feelings about these matter are indelibly inculcated into the brain/heart. That is why I consider it child abuse when the Churches impose this propaganda on children before the age of reason. God is indeed in your heart!

Jeremiah 23:19
Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked

Physicalist,

Well now there you are wrong............I did not grow up into a loving Religious environment.......Abandoned at age 4 with my sister, and baby brother and put into Juvenile Hall behind bars because they did not have a receiving home back then and at Christmas time.

My first foster home, were Pentecostal........and they knew the Lord not.  For at Christmas time we received no presents from them, but they showered their own daughter with them.....but as young as I was I knew that they were not good people.

Throughout my life I have faced many trials and hurts in the most gruesome ways............but never did I blame anyone for them.  Although I was not taught about Jesus per see.  I always knew he was, and he was my unknown hero that gave me strength to get through them without hate filling my heart.

Have you ever noticed the eyes of a person who loves God and Jesus with all their heart and soul?  They sparkle with light and joy.

Those that don't have him in their heart and soul have darkness, sadness, depression, lack strength of character, are consumed with earthly things.  And to obtain those earthly treasures will stomp anyone and everyone that gets in their way.

So your choice, live without joy and love and blame God for everything, or accept that life is not always beautiful, but throughout it he is holding your hand through all the heartache, torment, and trials you go through.

If God wanted to make us perfect.............he would have made us robots, but he is a loving God and wanted us to have the will to choose between good and evil.  He wants us to be his family.

I know that there are people out there that believe in evolution, they teach it in school, so they are brainwashed.  They see religious people that know not God.  They are confused.

It is my opinion only.............that God loves mankind sooo much.  That only the people that have turned completely to the dark side will go to hell when Jesus returns to rid the world of evil...........and then he sets up his Kingdom in Jerusalem and will teach all of mankind left God's way..........not religions way........or man's way.........but God's way, thus giving mankind one last chance with the Perfect Teacher Jesus.

Then the devil is released for a short time, because even with Jesus teaching some will still choose evil because of their freewill and then they will be thrown into the Lake of Sulphur along with satan throughout eternity.

I am not trying to convince you of anything.......I am trying to open your heart and wonder...........could I be wrong.......maybe I am........what if I am?

Do this.................between you and the Lord Jesus.

Jesus I do not know if you exist, please come into my heart so that I may get to know you.  Picture yourself in his hands.

I am touched by the hardship of your youth. People find religion in different ways. "It is the opiate of the people," said Karl Marx. If you want a contemporary belief in god I do suggest you read the Language of God by Dr Francis Collins. Evolution is as certain as it gets from the fossil and DNA evidence. Even the Pope believes in evolution. You are a woman who had it rough and the imagination of a Jesus served you well. May it continue to do so. Many are comforted by the faith they have in their god and religion. Go for it! I cannot and will not. "I don't want to believe, I want to know" said the late Cosmologist, Carl Sagan. As for Jerusalem being a holy place, they should rope it off and make it an asylum. I am touched by your tough bringing up. I urge you to continue to be comforted by whatever has always been there for you. Be well. Be with Jesus.

The lowest servant in Heaven is still in Heaven.

Whoever rules in hell is still in hell, but they won't rule for long.

Phycalist, why are you here preaching hate?  Atheism is the lowest form of neurotic hate since the Gulag system in Russia.  Yes, atheism really does require terror to maintain its hold.

Perhaps you forgot Biochemistry 101.  Rather than drag you through a bunch of calculations you might not be able to handle, why don't you simply concede the fact of ex nihlio creation?

I fully realize that atheists think it is amusing to insult people and to disrupt the peace and dignity of others who have any rational sense of decency or any rational set of values.  Again, that is an absolute mandatory fact that only atheists preach, regardless that you people have all been 100% in scientific discredit since the days of Newton and Pascal.

One little word sends all your atheist bunk into the circular file to remain there permanently.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telomere

In case you hadn't noticed, telomeres are the last structures to form in all living cells, including paleophyles and extremophyles.  Without it, DNA cannot form at all: just amino acids bumping into each other, forming nothing.

It is far easier to make Crotalus Atrox venom than peanut butter: C. Atrox venom has only four simple proteins where peanut butter sports 18 highly complex proteins.  So, folks, the evolution hypothesis is still in utter discredit and all the fanatical atheist chanting in the world will not grant it credibility.

I am the first to concede that Cornell hooked up the zaniest Rube Goldberg contraption in the history of science in a failed attempt to make artificial life.  $18,900,000.00 invested in lab equipment, seven years of lab time, and salaries of the top biophysicists on the planet failed to produce life -- or anything like it.  The closest they came was three amino acid precursors -- from a cyanide/ammonia atmosphere and nary one drop of water!

Nothing can live in that.  And the amino acid precursors broke down in a few short minutes, because they forgot that amino acid precursors are extremely unstable.

Why discredit your religion any further?  You are already in enough embarrassment.  You can't dogmatize your way out of that one.

Now, if you'd like to come up to scientific rigor, kindly describe in mathematical terms the functions of the time dimension and how it relates to space.  No fair peeking at Wikipedia on that one: let's see if you have what it takes to prove yourself a scientist.  That is high school physics, anyway.

Atheism has been in utter discredit for 450 years, when Blaise Pascal proved that it was only a fraternity prank.  The truth is not going to change to accommodate the atheist religion.

Get used to it.
