It is unfortunate that Man can misinterpret what God teaches so badly that they engage in horrible deeds.  However, it's important that we all remember this is MAN'S flaw, not God's.  Now, I cannot speak for non-Christian religions, for I do not know what they teach.  However, I can speak to you from a Christian perspective.

Following Jesus Christ's teachings properly will lead any man/woman/child along the right path.  A path of compassion, love, honor, truth, forgiveness, patience, charitable behavior and the ability to stay strong under the most aggressive pressures of the world.  The problem we have is that some fall victim to temptation and skew God's message.  Those people mislead others and then, even more people begin to misinterpret their actions as the actions of God.  The two are not even on the same playing field, however.

My father is an atheist and therefore, I see first-hand the frustrations, misconceptions and distrust he experiences.  He relies upon himself only and thinks faith is God is absurd.  Regardless, I love him and pray for his conversion continually.  I want him to know peace, safety and compassion.  I want him to know that being "of God" means good things, not bad.  I wish the very same for you and all those who have been misled.

Peace be with you and I hope that perhaps this has given you another insight.

Chris

The lowest servant in Heaven is still in Heaven.

Whoever rules in hell is still in hell, but they won't rule for long.

I say nothing new here: atheism is a 450 year old religion-in-perverse that has been in scientific discredit since the days of Blaise Pascal.  That is why these blatantly obnoxious fanatics hope to persecute anyone who practices mercy in living a clean life (and won't go to bed with them).

If you want to see how far these people have gone into discredit, click here:

It is a scathing eye-opener about how far atheists always go to persecute peace makers and bringers of compassion.

It is easy to talk the talk.  Any misfit can do that.  I'm calling your bluff.  I want to see if you have what it takes to join me, and walk the walk.

Perhaps the saddest thing about atheists is that they have made themselves spiritually blind and turned love into mindless anger.

Perhaps it was Mknight's destiny to exist on this planet so full of atheist bias that reason has no place in him at all.  What a shame to see another person so full of poison that he thinks it will help others.

You and I have had unmistakable clear experiences of faith, that far surpass the rationalizations of the atheist counter-religious order.  Yet it is a strict, unforgiving, rigid religious order that makes some truly obscene demands of all the cult members.  These cult doctrines are kept secret, because atheism would fall to pieces if anyone who had not been through their indoctrination ever got hold of them.

Well, guess what, Mknight?  I was once an atheist just like you.

And I had no joy in living, just like you.

And I made enemies and tried to "spread the gospel of Madolyn Murray O'Hair," just like you.

Sound familiar?  It should, Mknight.  I once had that doctrine down pat also.

You know what?  It all fell apart whern I decided to come in out of the cold.

Strangelove, there is no way to reason with atheists and Obamites.  Buth cults are completely in discredit yet they have never learned anything of any value.

Between self-righteous Obamites and equally self-righteous atheists, is it any wonder that they are both in discredit?

Mknight will continue that brash undergrad attitude problem until he outgrows it.  Of course, some people grow up faster than others, and some never grow up at all, so there it sits, in well-hardened concrete.

Of course, he should know by now that he has failed to substantiate any need for his atheist cult, so all matters stay there, at bottom-dead-center for these people until they come to their senses.

Rocmike3, I'm a bit consternated when you lump together "atheists and Obamites".

Defending Christianity - which I certainly do - is not a party-political thing.  You're dragged a political red herring across the path.  You're entitled to your view on the outcome of your US Presidential election, as I am on the outcome of our Australian federal election in late 2007.

It really doesn't help to say from one particular political standpoint, "God is on my side".  The Religious Right in the US, in my opinion, has not advanced the cause of Christianity with the large number of people out there who are indifferent or hostile to Christ's message.

As Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, has said:

“For some people in the media, morality means sex.   In the Bible, morality means justice, compassion, and the defence of the needy.  It means humility, realism and questioning, repentance and generosity.  That's quite a lot to be going on with."

David T, here in America, the last election put religion and politics together in a particularly ugly and bitter way: false christians and atheists used a fanatical Muslim communist to divide the nation along "An uncrossable racial boundary that will give us two nations: one for the holy black man and the other for those lower races," Jeremiah Wright.

We now have three political factions in America: Republicans, Democrats, and Obamites.  Most Obamites left the Democrat party because the Democrats were not racist enough to meet their secret agenda.  Finally, due to $1.28 BILLION in improperly gained campaign funds, the Democrats folded camp and moved in with Obamites.  Obamites then staged yet another hostile takeover and called themselves Democrats.

Most actual Democrats are torn over Obama: they dare not become Republicans, so they must take militant but unwilling sides with Obamite racists, or face termination of ALL their government benefits they worked all their lives to earn.

And now, they must conceal those gangster tactics or face further reprisals, exactly as in the days of Hitler.

Obamite cultists pretend unconvincingly to be Christians but their actions give them away instantly: Christians are not cowards.  Nor do Christians take sides with a cult of mindless anger that demands to separate the nation along an un-crossable race boundary.

Apartheid didn't work in South Africa.

It won't work here, either.

Chaplain John--Falsehood is the lifeblood of religion. Chaplain John makes comments probably based on the ancient book of superstition called the Bible. He makes projections about what will happen to people even though he has no clue if there is a God. No one else knows either. It is based merely on belief and faith in a 2000 yr old outdated discredited book. Religious folk pretend that they know. Even Jesus did not know if there was a God. Jesus was the first Agnostic when he said, "Father, why hath thou forsaken me?" If God made his existence and Will known just think of the clarification and end of all the holy wars. Perhaps more than 15% of the world would follow Jesus instead of some hundreds of other Gods. It took 200 years for the Chinese to hear of a Jesus from the fanatical Middle East. What kind of God/Man is that? I am unimpressed with the evidence presented in your Bible that you think had to be written by an omniscient Supreme Being.

Physicalist has been in humiliating discredit most of his life. The primary reason he went sour and angry was that he decided to go sour and angry.  His atheist superstition never once had the tiniest flimsy little scrap of evidence to support it, but he hopes that if he makes enough ruckus that he can get deluded persons to take sides with him.  What is the price for compulsive sympathy seeking?  Why is it an absolute exclusive to offbeat religions like atheism?

The history of their weird cult proves why they have always been in the worst form of discredit that ever existed.  That is why he failed and their cult shall always remain a failure.

We who have insight merely chuckle at the atheist cult and their superstitious  disbelief.  Since there is not one atheist anywhere who has the slightest hint of insight, it is probably better not to share with them anything that might upset them any more.

Perhaps the worst failure these people have ever committed is that they hope to make us remember them by forcing us to hate them.  God knows, they have failed since Blaise Pascal proved them wrong over 450 years ago.

Some people never learn.  Thankfully, it is an absolute exclusive to the atheist religious cult.
