Is one religion sufficent enough to contain the essence of God? I mean think about it there are so many religions and so many different people in the world from different cultural backgrounds that it makes me wonder how can anybody say that their religion is the only true religion and only way to reach and have an eternal life in heaven while the rest will suffer in hell. Now does this make me a bad Christian or wrong for not believing that a majority of the world is going to hell? Don't get me wrong I don't believe that everybody is going to heaven either as there are some truly evil people in the world who show no remorse for their actions at all but I have trouble believeing that a majority of the world who isn't Christian is going to burn in hell for an eternity as well as there are some really good and sound people who have very good morals.

Be Blessed.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (Love), I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vauneth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seekth not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is (Love) charity.

Lets see what God's word has to say about it:Smile

  • Acts 4-10 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men (Jesus), whereby we must be saved.
  • John 10-1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
  • John 14-6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
  • Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
  • Romans 10-9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
  • John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish , but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world not to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
  • Revelations 20:11-15 And I (John) saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were open: and another book was opened, which was the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
  • Matthew 22:37-41 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying , They will reverence my son. But the husbandmen saw the son, and said among themselves, This is the heir; come let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen? They say unto him, He will misersably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyaed unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

My friends, Hell is real and the bible says God cannot lie. He is bound by his word. He turned his head while his only son was crucified for our sins. If we accept him (Jesus) we have eternal life and our names are written in the lambs book of life. If we reject him (Jesus) we are cast into hell for eternity. God said it and that settles it.

Be Blessed.

The bible is only one perspective but facilitates many religions and dinominations. It has ben taken from, added to, translated, interprated, revised and in many cases utterly changed. It was"inspired by God", not written by God. Man was inspired by stories, history, nature, personal experience and such but we were the ones that formulated and scripted the substance of it. It is flawed however, the intent may have been vertuous, it is only a book of advice and history, not an absolute way of life. To depend on it and nothing else for your salvation, peace or inlightment would be foolish and iresponsible, not to mention inmature and danjerous.

Religion is what you do habittualy. My religion is to seek God, the truth and understanding, to study diligently all the sources of knowlege God has given us and to worship with a pure heart. I can not, with good, sound, clear and responsible concience limit myself to a program or philosophy that was originated and represented by one particular cultural perception . Any one that does not have an open mind and heart to the limitless possibilities and mysteries of God will surely not find the truth. God has no limits and is eternal in every direction, depth and time. It would take an eternaty to define and understand something that is eternal. And when you apply that with the fact that we only use 10 to 30% of our brains, how can we truely be sure. This is a life long journy and your effort and indevors shoul last for as long .Innocent Peace and Success

Wise Ali,

Thank you for your spin on the subject but I will take Jesus, no matter how foolish, iresponsible, inmature and dangerous this journey might be.

My heart is fixed and my mind made up, I am going with Jesus all the way. I will not be moved by what I see or hear. I will only be moved by the word of God.

Whether or not the bible (which was inspired by God, for the prophets to write), is a program or philosophy that was originated and represented by one particular cultural perception, is flawed I don't know.

One thing is for sure that on that great day, when we stand before the master in all of his glory to be judged, we will find out.Smile

Be blessed my brother and keep seeking God for guidance.

If you could see what I've seen with your eyes.....

If every religious sect preached that only its believers would go to heaven, it would mean that nearly everyone was considered to be automatically going to hell by nearly everyone else. There has to be some universal truth out there regardless of how many organized religions are out there, what they are called, or the details of their preachings.  How many religions have as one of their most important tenets: "An it do no harm, do as thou wilst," or "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," or whatever other wording the Golden Rule is put into? How can any one religion possibly contain all of the power of the universe?  The real challenge is to transcend the trappings of formal religious sects in order to clear your eyes to see the truth.  We see the sun come up in the morning, we feel the rain, we see the new lambs and new life upon the earth in the springtime, we feel the freeze of the winter as the world turns on its axis. These are the facts of the world and the physical laws we must live by. How much more spiritual can you get?  It is a sad fact of human nature that we need enforced laws to keep the peace among those who just don't see the light.

"Whom the gods would destroy, they first drive mad."  Euripides.

The more we see of the words of Obamites, the closer they come to madness.

Only we who keep our sanity will survive the Obamite rebellion.

Is there one True Mother Church?  Yes!  My family belong to it.  That one Church is the whole body of believers, whether you're Catholic or Protestant.  The Lutheran minister speaks at Sacred Heart several times a year, and our Priest goes there to speak just as often.  I have friends who come from every religion on earth and its surprising how much alike they are.

But I see a few religions I wouldn't want my dog to join because they believe in being just plain hateful.  What was Mumia Abu Jamal's religion?  What was Martin Luther King's religion?

People go to a religion when they believe in what the religion preaches.  That is how God sorts us all out.

Miguel,

Dr. King was a Baptist Minister and a good man. Maybe you would like to read up on him. See the attached website.

Tippy, I know all about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He's a hero in my book. A black man rose from a miserable community, preached peace, and showed himself the example of peace.  Then he laid down his life like a hero for his faith!  He is a martyr for Christ.  Heaven has a place for him.  He chose to follow Jesus and lead Jesus' people because he knew what love is.

Then we look at Mumia Abu Jamal.  He was another black man, but he joined the Black Muslims -- and they aren't real Muslims at all!   Most of the Muslims I know are decent, sober, hard working people.  They stand away from Black Muslims, the way we Catholics stand away from snake charmers in Georgia.  Both are a smear on the true faith.  Mumia Abu Jamal and those snake charmers will have some explaining to do when God passes judgement.

Now, I know you will hit me for this, but Jesus is mu ultimate Hero!  Look where he came from and where he lived.  It was horrible!  Rome was a horrible oppressor like the Sandinistas in Nicaragua!  The worst way they could execute a criminal was on a cross, just to keep people afraid of them.  Jesus laid down His life on that horrible thing.  Yet He did no one any harm at all, past trying to get them to mellow up on each other.  He did that for me!

It makes even a hard guy like me break down in tears to know that He would do it again if He had to.  I fought many battles in the jungle, and each time, I was afraid, but I also knew that there was hope I would survive.  Not so for Jesus.  He walked with that cross on His back to sacrifice himself for me -- and anyone else who wanted to go by His name.  I don't have that kind of courage.

How can I not be grateful?  How can I not be moved?  How can I not believe in Him, just as He believed in me enough to suffer that horrible way?  How can I not do what He asked me to do -- bring peace where there is war, bring food where there is hunger, bring solace where there is pain ...........

Jesus will judge King and Jamal.  What is He going to do with them?

I think that the Gods and Buddhas would answer that they argree with you.

However, I also believe that a Buddha can not see what is above them only what's below their level, and what's below their level they understand. I practice Falun Dafa and from what I understand this is what the teachings of Falun Dafa explain.
