How can I relieve stress?

Does anyone know any ways to relieve stress that aren't very time consuming? It's hard to find "me" time between the kids and work.

Turn off the television and teach your children how to think.

Take ten minutes with a book or some music. If you can't get any privacy, lock yourself in the bathroom or sit in the car (lock the doors).

Put on some music and dance. The louder, faster and sillier; the better.

Have a good cry. Sometimes we all need one.

Do something out of character for you. If you're the type who always has to act like a grown up and follow the rules, don't. Climb up on the wall next to the sidewalk and walk along it; go out the 'In' door; make faces at each other in the window reflection or do whatever makes you laugh.

Without the rocks in it's bed, the stream would have no song!

You need to "make time for yourself".

I believe we should take care of ourselves first & foremost, else we will be unable to care for others.

I agree with music and dance. I do it while I am doing my chores. I sing too. the neighbors havent complained yet.Wink If you are experiencing physical symptoms of stress such as tension in your neck and shoulders, headaches, teeth clenching, etc. chewing gum during the day can help a great deal to keep those areas relaxed. Also if you can try a hot bath instead of a shower.If your stress can not be improved by simple measures, see your doctor.

Whether or not you ar a Christian, begin reading in the book of Matthew in the bible. You may find that the teachings of Jesus and His love for you will help you a great deal. When I go to bed at night I say my nightly prayers and then I repeat the 23rd psalm to myself. "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want....". I always fall asleep before I am able to finish.

well I guess you need to have some time off for a week or a day of two from work then have some small quality time with the children. I think that should work out.
