How to record on dvd when it's hi def cable ...

how to record on dvd when it's hi def cable. before the high def cable my box was plugged in into my dvd player and I was able to rec everything on dvd, now that it's on high def, and everything plugged in separatly it doesn't record anything accept of the blue screne. Anyone knows how do I need to plug in the dvd so it works?

You'll need a high def recorder, probably Bluray. The DVD recorder simply won't accept or play a high def digital signal. Or, there may be some kind of converter box similar to that which they sold for the changeover to digital TV that you can run the signal through to change it to analog. It's possible that that same converter box could do the job, but I don't know anything on that.
