Does anyone have the recipe for the $250 cookies?

I heard there is a story behind this recipe - something about a kid who wanted to buy the recipe, and was told it cost two fifty - his dad approved, and only then found out it was $250 and not $2.50. As a revenge he published the recipe online.

Thanks Tiptop

I actually have never heard this story before :-)

Incidentally, I always try not to use margarine, and in my experience it is easy to substitute with butter.

The recipe you're describing is the Neiman Marcus cookie.  There are several stories about how it came to be on the internet.  But the cookies are pretty darned good!!
