A:

Bullshit. This is about human rights, not special rights. When everyone has the right to join with the person he or she loves and receive the same civil privileges as any other person, we will have equal rights.

Religious beliefs has nothing at all to do with civil law. Please refrain from mixing the two, or go live in a theocracy. Might I suggest Malaysia, or Iran?

True enough, Technomom. I do not ask for extra and special rights merely because my family lives as nature intended and we get along.

Should we grant special rights to thieves, who steal our goods?

Should we grant special rights to perverts, hookers, and drug addicts, who spread AIDS?

Sexual deviancy is no small issue. These people have no right to reduce people I love to reckless at-risk behavior.

Comparing people who want their relationships legally recognized to those who commit crimes is highly offensive, as I'm sure you know and intend. "Sexual deviancy" has nothing to do with same-sex pairings, as shown by plenty of credible research.

As for "reduc(ing) people (you) love to reckless at-risk behavior" - do you mean to say that you've lost a lover to a same-sex lover? Or perhaps a child of yours is gay, and you can't deal with it? Those are things to deal with in therapy, not by trying to punish every same-sex couple in the country.

It's fairly ridiculous to talk about "at-risk behavior" in any case, when we're discussing people who want their monogamous relationships legally recognized! It's generaly the same people who attack homosexuals as "promiscuous," largely for NOT being married to their partners, who also don't want to permit them TO marry their partners!
