I dont think so that even a secured credit card can help you bust your credit score within 30 days.

A hard pull on a credit report is different. It does affect your credit score. Anytime that you are actually getting a loan or a new credit card, the lender conducts a hard pull on your credit report. This stays on the record. It also lowers your credit score by about five to ten points for six months. For this reason, it is important to guard your credit report from too many hard pulls.

Basically, you need some "good" credit items on your credit report. To a point of excessive debt, these items help your credit. You just don't want too many or any with late payments. It is also best if you aren't near the top of your credit line on many of these as that indicates you are under strain credit wise. So if you don't have much "good" credit items on your credit, then opening a new one of any kind (the exception might be one of those high rate payday loans) would help your credit. 1 or 2 creditors pulling your credit will not hurt your score. It only takes a hit when you have numerous hits in a short time. One thing to watch out for is applying for a car loan through a dealer. They often will shop the market for a loan, resulting in numerous hits. So watch out for that. Oh, as to timing I wouldn't expect any benefit to show up for at least 30 days and maybe up to 60. It often is just a matter of timing in a month and will depend on when you get your loan and when the creditor submits their information to the bureaus. Good luck.

Sincerely,

Reliable answers to your credit questions.

A secured card can help your credit score over time, if you don't have other major credit cards that are reporting on-time activity. But it's not a quick fix. It may not show up on your reports for 30 - 60 days to begin with, and after that an ontime payment history is needed before you may see your scores go up.

If you are a labor union member, you may want to check out the Union Plus secured card. Otherwise, shop for a secured card that reports to all three major credit reporting agencies.

Opening a new credit card WILL NOT improve your credit in 20 to 30 days.  Credit scores are based on payments made on time, over a long period of time.  So if you need your credit increased quickly, don't open anything new.

In addition, inquiries do hurt your score and can reflect badly when applying for new credit.  It looks to the person giving you the loan that you are looking for new credit in many places.

If you need help with your credit reports, I recommend doing some credit restoration .  Companies like Lexington Law Firm can help you with credit repair and they can also try and change any hard inquiries to soft inquiries.

Good luck, hope you get the credit you need.
