Just Win baby!

Yes you are correct.  They call it continuing education.   You can do the classes on-line or attend one for a couple of hours to get credit.

Marin County IS a hat for every different head!

Presently the website is down for updating but the New York State Department will answer your questions.

The 22.5 hours for continuing education is nothing compared to the time you'll spend keeping up with changing regulation and legislation. You don't have to be competent to be a real estate agent but why not. A license won't teach you bip. There are also various associations you'll want to join and designations you'll want. Figure your expenses for education and and affiliations will be at least $2,000, maybe quite a bit more.
