" With all things being equal, the simplist answer tends to be the correct one." That is what I can remember of Occum's Razor, a scientific theory.
First example: "Our God and our religion is the only pure and true belief and when "we" get the bomb, YOU WILL be eradicated from this earth."
Second example: Money matters more than human life. "If we tell the people the truth, the "markets" will implode and we'll loose Trillions!!
Third example: "Just release the virus, that takes care of the elderly and frail..and don't forget phase2, poison the incoming dope. That gets rid of most of the addicts and stops the drain on those entitlement benefits as well."
My question is this: If a government keeps making the same kind of mistakes "from one administration to another," year after year, regardless of it's political affiliation, how do we fire the politicians and put the experts in the decision making positions for the betterment of "all mankind?" And, how do we accomplish this before it's too late?
