Financing a child's 30 year mortgage in march, 2009
What is the lowest rate that i may offer a child in march 2009 so that the irs does not construe that the child is receiving a taxable benefit?

It has to be inline with the lowest rate available for a home mortgage at the bank. So check with bankrate and see what the lowest rate is and that is what you can charge without trigger any claim of gifting.
