How do radio hosts/DJs time their comments before a song?
They always talk and do a short intro while the music starts, but stop talking, just before the lyrics start! How do they do it with such presicion?
I work in radio, and 99% of all radio stations use a special software to play our music (like a professional iTunes, it rotates the music, inserts jingles and promo's, etc). One of the features is an intro countdown timer, which counts down the intro of each song up to the vocals, so we can "hit the post" every time.
Hope this helps,Curtis
Don't forget, most D.J.'s (especially the good ones) already know the song, so they can use the instrumental passage to introduce it, and let you enjoy the song once the lyrics start.
