Hi There are many quilt sites that offer "free patterns" Google Photo quilts.
Also many quilt magazines have simple patterns that can be used for photo transfer. If you are a new quilter, I would stick with a simple 5 patch design that sews a border around the photo and uses fabric for the alternating blocks..
Your local fabric store will have the transfer fabric and may include a Free Pattern.
