A question for an advanced musicians

I always wondered if you can play sharps and flats on a flute or a piccolo.I do not want to sound stupid but i do know that you cant do that with a recorder and im wondering if thats the same thing with the flute.I am a musician myself and i usually prefer to play around with minor scales so im wondering if its possible with the flute.
