I just purchased the EasyCap Capture 2.0. to copy my video tapes to DVD. Picture copies great but I am getting a static sound over the voice. There is no static if I play the video tape alone only when I play it through the capture device. Any sugestions on eliminating this noise. I'm using the Ulead Video Studio software that came with the EasyCap device.
How is the VCR connected to the capturing device? If by RCA for video and a 3.5mm jack for sound this is your problem. You need a good set of wires for the connection.
Thank you for the reply. What do you recommend as a good set of wires?
Thanks again appreciate the info.
I'm not familier with cable companies, but find a set of cables which are thick and made of gold or at least gold connectors.
While better quality audio cables will help you will be limited by the quality of your video capture card. I tried converting my home movies myself and then realized the quality was awful and switched to StashSpace.Com a video tape to dvd conversion service. They convert the tapes for you. When I did it they were running a promotion where the transer to digital was free and you just paid the $15 for a DVD. You can use their online software to watch, share, and edit which is nice if you want to combine footage from multiple tapes. You may want to check them out to see how much better the quality is. I highly recommend them. Go to http://www.stashspace.com to check them out or give them a call. Good Luck!
