I have 2 choices for you--1st-I agree with another post, a Great Dane. My Dane was absolutely loveable and "cuddled" as much as a 200lb dog could yikes! The downfall is they don't live very long and many have life threatening intestinal issues due to their size. Mine lived for a little over 5 years, my next door neighbor's lived for only 4.

2nd choice--I currently have a chihuaha/cocker spaniel mix, this is the smartest, most affectionate dog I have ever come across. He is loyal, well behaved, easily trained, loveable dog. He warms up to everyone and when we have visitors he insists in sitting in their lap (it is hysterical to see my husband's friend- a 250lb, "biker" with his long beard and big muscles, holding/petting this little 12 lb dog)
