Why are my pumpkins turning yellow and falling off

why are my pumpkins turning yellow and falling off the vine? My pumpkins are about the size of a hlf dollar the flower opens for a day then dies eventually the pumpkin turns yellow and falls off what do i do?Should i be plucking the flowers off? also where the flower meets the fruit it is sometimes rotting any help would be good thanks

Maybe you are watering them too much.  They like dry, at least here in florida
