Mega Blocks.

My grandchildren loved it and played with them till they were old enough to play with the more delicate lego bricks.  The blocks were their favorite toy for ages.

When my nephew was 2 years old my girlfriend got him a small backpack with dog face, ears and legs, and he just LOVED it (and still does). I can't even remember what I got him, just the fact that he didn't like it

Personally, I think train sets (like Brio) are great for that age. Duplo / Mega Bloks are also an excellent choice. Books, of course are classic... try Harold & the Purple Crayon, Curious George, Clifford, etc.

Some other options are a plastic slide (particularly if they have a garden), a ride-on toy, or a small desk the child can 'work' at.

Still need more ideas?

i give many presents in many wrapped packages!

like in one,i'll have crayons,in another i'll have the coloring books,in another package,i'll have minature cars, just many packages full of things, and you don't have to pay a fortune on them!

kids love opening presents,so the many packages make it more exciting for him!:)

First of all I'd ask him what he likes but if he can't talk well yet let me tell you something about boys. They are amased with anything. They play with sticks, in dirt and just about with anything. It's not the gift or the price, he'd be happy with anything. They do have an emagination.

Boys are happy with anything unkike girls. A 2 year old can amuse himself with playing with a stick or playing in the dirt. Take him out to the store and let him just look at some toys. He will let you know what he likes. And unlike girls boys will be happpy with a one doolar toy.

Of couse toys are great for children at any age, and are enjoyed by all children. But why not give the child the unbreakable Toy, " LOVE", too often we neglect to love them and a toy becomes just a poor substitute for our love.
