Priscilla,

I have been taking Lipitor for approx 10 years.  It has been effective for me with no adverse side affects.  Every 3 months my blood is drawn and the dr is happy with the results.  However, I do pay more attention to what I eat now than I did at one time.

the best Rx to lower your lipid panel levels is........a COMPLEX carb (HIGH FIBER), LEAN protein, UNSATURATED fat diet AND CARDIOVASCULAR EXERCISE!!!!

as far as doctor prescribed meds., everyone is different and your doctor can assess what medication is most appropriate for you (depending on your past medical history and any current health issues you may have).
