I'm in my 20th week, this is my 3rd pregnancy. I lost my son at 27 weeks, and I had a miscarriage the second pregnancy. I'm really scared. Could it happen again?

Yes, I suppose it could happen again. But it also could NOT happen again.

What does your doctor have to say about it? Have you shared your fears with him or her?

It is okay to be scared. But please try to keep your fears from overwhelming you and try instead to hold positive thoughts for yourself and your baby.

If you are religious, you might pray for inner peace and ask that your baby grow strong and healthy so that he or she will be born to you and your husband in God's perfect timing.

If you are not religious, that's okay too (I'm Agnostic, myself).

Just try to keep your thoughts focused on the positives and cancel out your thoughts of the negatives, then follow your doctor's instructions and wait for time to pass.

All the best to you and your soon-to-be family.

there are many reasons for losing a baby. Some of them can happen again, others no. The most appropriate to answer your question is your Doctor based on your medical/obstetric history and your present condition.

My Dear,

Because you have miscarried twice does not mean you are going to again. Okay i am religious and the bible tells us in Isaiah 66 vs 9 that God who caused you to bring forth will help you to bear down. So i recommend rest from now on, try checking your diets, do not fret, it only helps you become weaker. And you know that the more you miscarry the lesser chances you have of bearing down or even getting pregnant. I tell you put your positives in this one and when you bear down call me. Cheers!

I'm sending you loads of good will and best wishes. I feel for you for having gone through this twice. I doubt there's a sane way to go through this pregnancy and NOT think about the worst case scenario...

When I had my miscarriages I felt I was going crazy with each pregnancy when people refused to hear my concerns and just wanted to reassure me (and themselves probably) that all will end well.

I turned to therapy and it was very helpful for me. Maybe ther's an online group you can join with women who have experienced loss. Don't bottle things inside.

How Can I Get Rid of This Yeast Infection?

QUESTION Dear Midwife, I have had a yeast infection throughout my entire pregnancy. My doctor has tested me for STD's and all are negative. He has prescribed metro gel to me. I have used this every few months. I am now on my 32 week and am using this prescription every other week. Is there something stronger I can use or something I can change or do different to help? ANSWER Metrogel will not cure a yeast infection, it's for a bacterial infection and can actually cause a yeast infection. Have you tried Diflucan (the yeast pill)? There are also over the counter yeast preparations and a heavy duty vaginal cream (Terazol) that might be appropriate. If all these fail, borax washes help some women and the yeast can be cultured to see what will kill it. Other things you can do for yourself include eliminating sugars as much as possible (no soda or juices for sure, only two fruits and two dairies per day) and eating more vegetables and proteins.
