I am 25 and since I don't think I am ovulating. I have been using a saliva based kit and the patterns don't look any different from day to day. I was irregular before I began birth control and now that I am off Birth control I am really irregular again. Should I wait longer before going to see a specialist or even back to my gynecologist?

If your cycle was irregular before and is still irregular, it could be that you have some hormonal imbalance that will need to be corrected before you will be able to conceive. I don't think there is any reason for you to wait to see a doctor who can start by testing you to see if there is a problem (usually blood tests & an ultrasound to check your ovaries).

You didn't say when you stopped taking birth control, so it's a bit difficult to answer, but I think rachinbar's answer is excellent. Seeing a doctor sooner rather than later sounds like the right thing to do now.

I would suggest seeing your gynecologist right away.  I have always had very irregular periods, and when I got off of birth control this last time, I waited for about 10 months before seeing a doctor.  I had not had a period that whole time.  I went to my gynecologist, and she put me on two medications -- provera and clomid.  The provera made me start my periods, and the clomid was to help me ovulate.  Let me tell you now, just because you have a period doesn't mean that you are ovulating.  I have heard many good reports from women that used clomid, but it didn't work for me.  I stayed on clomid for 4 months.  I went from 50 mg to 200 mg, and my body never reacted to it.  My doctor referred me to an infertility specialist, and he discovered that I have PCOS, which is the leading cause of infertility in women.  They are now running tests on me to see what they can do to help me get pg.  There are many medications out there for women with PCOS, and a high percentage of women with PCOS can still get pg.  The reason I feel you should see a doctor now is because of the long road that could still be ahead of you before you get pregnant.  The wait is very frustrating and emotional.  I pray that you will not have to go thru much.
