John,
Confusing health care with Ted's personal foolishness is nothing but politics of the worst sort. His misdeeds should have been dealt with when they happened, but they weren't, and the people of Mass. continued to re-elect him to the Senate. Seperately, he supported health care for all, and that is unrelated to his personal errors.
I support health care for all, either a government option or something affordable for everyone, based on a sliding scale on ability to pay. Lets face it, if you're poor and don't have access to health care you're screwed! That has to change. Saying that we should torpedoe health care because Ted Kennedy was for it? That's like outlawing trains because Mussoleni believed they should be on time!
Ted Kennedy is now gone, and really it changes nothing in your life or mine. He obviously escaped justice, as do others who come from influential families. You can keep going on about it, or, work towards something positive. We need health care that is affordable for everyone, and that truly takes care of everyone. It's time to cut the other nonsense and deal with that issue on it's own merits, and ignore the sideshows that have sprouted up around it.
