4 thumbs up

I think because the internet or the computer is in the comfort of one's home. And a person might feel more at ease to speak what's on their mind. There is no one there in your face to argue with and it make the disagreements eaiser to control. Either you can close the internet down or just go to something else. And another thing you don't see the person whom you are talking to,no eye contact,no body language or things you would experience in a contact situation or face to face. I think it's just eaiser.

Those are my thoughts. I welcome yours.

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

Before I give my opinion bear in mind that I marched with Dr. King...twice, I am white I'm not racist....but I am confused.

I think the racism is rampant everywhere, not just the internet.

Now, here is the part that is gonna get the firestorm started.

I think much of the racism is fostered and perpetuated by the black community.

Let's see, there is a Black Spring Break in Daytona Beach...a Miss Black USA....a Black Teen USA...here in Jacksonville there was a recent Black Entrepreneurs Show at the convention center....there are Black (Urban) radio stations...several universities have Black Student Unions....and then there is BET (Black Entertainment Television).

Now can you imagine the fuss that would be made if "white" replaced the word "black" in every instance listed above?

Why is it ok for blacks to call us 'honky" and yet we're crucified if the "n" word passes our lips?

Why is it ok to crucify Mark McGuire, Roger Clemmens or Lance Armstrong for drug abuse but when the spotlight is thrown on Marion Jones, Pacman Jones or any other black athlete it is considered to be an attack or indictment of blacks?

I don't understand it. This is not what we marched and had stones & bottles thrown at us for.

Dr. King did not preach 'separate but equal.' He preached 'together and equal'.

agreed.

my fiancee....very soon to be husband (brian)....is in the pennsylvania national guard. i am very passionate about the elections this year. i am also very involved with the family readiness group for his division.

i am so annoyed....to put it nicely....with all of this bull shi* following this election. everyone thinks osama/obama is going to 'CHANGE' everything...well, he has already CHANGED...i mean 'revised'... his plan regarding iraq without even being in office. what other policies is he planning on changing...veering away from his original promises...

he has stated that he wants to go to iraq and talk with the generals on the ground before deciding what to do. well, no shi*. maybe he should have done that before he won the primary. now he thinks his 'brilliant' idea of reducing u.s. troops in iraq and seding more to afghanistan is new and innovative.

brian has already done one tour in iraq in 2004. unbenounced to the mass media public frenzy, brian and the rest of the 56th stryker brigade have had orders since last fall for deployment. we have known that most all of the 33,000 soldiers deploying will be heading for afghanistan in january 2009.

obama has not come up with anything new here...this 'CHANGE' has been in place for some time now, just not made public. if this is just the tip of the iceberg, i cannot even imagine what we are in for with him. he does not have my vote.

take care.
