Computers are the wave of the future.
what's the best pocket pc available for under $500 that has internet access?
I swear by nokia's internet tablets. The n810 is around $500, while the comparable n800 is going for around $250.
Mozilla web browser, connecting through the internet through wifi or your cellphone through bluetooth, skype is available, feed reader, note taking etc.
It can sync with your gcalendar (haven't done that just yet).
As well as tonnes of free software at maemo.org
The only drawback I have felt is that it is not the strongest personal information manager out there compared to pdas, but it does the internet and media better than anything I have ever experienced in a pocket pc. Some think they are better than iPhones.
It is a true pocket personal computer.
Best of luck
