My water smells like rotten eggs only in the laundry water. I don't smell it in any other part of the house but boy does the laundry water stink.

Run an empty washer with approximately four liters (one gallon) of vinegar and the rest water. This should take care f the odor. In the future add a bit of vinegar to the water softener for every wash.
