I have been considering getting cosmetic surgery ...

I have been considering getting cosmetic surgery for a few years now. I specifically want to get a rhinoplasty. I'm not sure of the pros and cons of surgery.  Does anyone have any advice?

It will put you out of commission for a week or so and will hurt a lot but if it will make you feel better about yourself then it will totally be worth it.

Try and talk to Dr. Greenberg  at http://www.greenbergcosmeticsurgery.com . He is a nationally recognized Cosmetic Surgeon and surely be able to answer all of your queries and educate you about rhinoplasty before you actually go through it.

The look for plastic Rhinoplasty is the natural look.  So if you want great changes on your nose you must look for a Dr. who is willing to do so. Otherwise you may  end up with a similar nose only softer looking, and nicer.
