A:European travel can be tough in the winter. Most of Europe is quite cold. If you do not mind the cold and are looking for pretty mountains and culture, the best bets are Austria, Switzerland and France. The alps run through these countries and are absolutely beautiful. However, in January, I would probably go to the Canary Islands. It will be warm there even when it is cold in the rest of Europe.
