Why do places like this get away with it?

the consumer, when you buy a part used u get a reciept therefore you should be able to return it with that reciept right? well thats not the case here, since an employee doesnt do his job correctly and lies to me and his boss i have to pay for his mistake as a customer.the parts are suppose to have numbers marked with a highlighter which the employee did not do so therefore they will not even work with me for credit or nothing.I know im on camera and i asked if they could look at it and see the employee did not mark my item since i was the last customer of the day.I was told to leave and not come back that they were not giving me anything, and thats after they already threw my part in the trash recycle bin.So now i got ripped off and have no part.I paid cash and it shows on the reciept which i still have.Whats fair about this> nothing. I know that im not the only one that this has happened to because i have gone there for close to 20 years and thats what makes it to where they can do that because they didnt open yesterday and not all customers have problems.
