what is a pica?
Picas are units of measurement used by printers to measure the vertical and horizontal areas of the printed area. There are approximately 6 picas per inch.
I'll search, while you wait.
A pica is a tool for measuring in units. I've used a pica ruler to measure the lenght of articles when preparing a newspaper for publication. Of course a simple ruler can be used, but normally, newspaper production teams used the pica measurement system. I've provided an image at the following website: www.genesisartsupplies.com/alvin/images/1098.jpg and an indepth definition at this website www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pica_(unit_of_measure)
