"The BEST assembly we have ever had! Rang through the school for many days after your show. Indeed, the mixture of entertainment and important messages, song, story, skill and teaching thereof, all made for the best assembly we have ever had in the seventeen years that I've been at this school...and certainly the best money that we have ever spent!" Pam Morris-Teacher Burney Elementary Burney, California The Rhinestone Ropers have performed over 1000 school assemblies in 44 states across the U.S. The Mink Family aim to accomplish three things with their 50 minute school show: Inspire with character education, a drug free message, original special purpose message and World Champion Skills. Educate by teaching about the life of a cowboy on a traditional cattle drive, how to read a cattle brand, create a brand for your school, musica and instruments on the cattle drive (including guitar, harmonica, jaw harp and concertina), the cowboy and his rope, sonic boom and the bullwhip and good citizenship education. Entertain with fancy trick roping, traditional rope games, cowboy songs and instruments and a spectacular black light finale. The Minks hold 19 World Championship titles, a Guinness World Record and were inducted into the IKT Hall Of Fame as the 2006 Western Performing Family of the Year. History: The Rhinestone Roper Show creates historical empathy for the daily life of the cowboy on the cattle drive. By learning details of different aspects of the cattle drive, students are able to share a common memory of their roots, of where they have been and of what their core values are. With this greater sense of self and shared community, the show demonstrates that good citizens act in certain ways and with respect for the rights of others. Art: By experiencing the arts of the old west (song, story, the lariat, bullwhip and musical instruments of the cattle drive) the student are taught a process that helps them develop the skills necessary to lead productive and fulfilling lives; such as self motivation, self discipline, perseverance, willingness to take risks, and craftsmanship. Students are also taught audience skills and proper etiquette in a variety of performance circumstances. Physical Education: The Mink Family executes physical skills with rope and bullwhip from novice level to competition level and from anaerobic to aerobic activity. They demonstrate, by example, the benefit of a physically active lifestyle that is free of drugs, alcohol and tobacco. Please contact Kimberly Mink to book an assembly for your school.
