Is there philanthropist's who give money to private citizens?

looking for a philanthropist to save my husbands small business, thereby saving him and our family.  the economy has nearly ruined the business and we are going to lose everything.  i can't work due to an illness, stress is at an all time high.  scared.  two small boys.  where do we go from here? it is not only the poor that need need help, does that sound selfish?  God, I hope not.  I really hope not.  I have always tried to help my neighbor.
