     Congratulations on your upcoming move! Moving can be very exciting yet present many stressors and challenges at the same time. Allow me to abate some of the potential obstacles you might otherwise face.

     Philadelphia, while rich in history, arts, culture and care (it is the City of Brotherly Love after all), is also a city of crime. Philadelphia had the highest homicide rate (28 per 100,000 people)of the ten most populated US states in 2006. I believe that number was even higher in 2007. In short, be sure to do your research when choosing an area to rent. Though cost is definitely a determining factor, so too should be safety.

     In Philadelphia, the average rental rates are approximately $1200 per 1000 square feet. I am situated approximately 15 miles south of Philadelphia (in Delaware) where average rental rates are around $875 per 1000 square feet. Depending on where you will be working, this may be an area of rental consideration.
