Actually there are 2 different cats that look blackbut are really a deep dark brown. One is the Burmese and one is the Bombay. The Burmese is the first cat that was identified but the cat club people and that cat is actually brown but it looks black. The Bombay came about from mating a Burmese with another cat, this cat also appears black but it is brown too. It is less brown and more black than its cousin the Burmese. Hope that wasnt too confusing :)
