my dog picks a room and pees in it. I never catch her though.I remove carpet and she finds a new spot. She also goes outside. She also is like a mouse and has to chew holes in material. Just little holes.

It sounds as if the dog has the run of the house which would be fine if the dog were house broke so you will have to go back to 101. Start her in one controlled room. This will be the same room you have here food and water in and also you will need a pet carrier. When you leave the house, the dog with her food and water and toys will need to go into carrier. As soon as you arrive home, or, get up in the morning take the dog out side and repete over and over be a good girl/or boy depending on dog until the dog does his or her business. If it has been all night both. As soon as the dog does one get excited and praise the dog using the dogs name saying good -dogs name here-several times and then repete until dog has done both if it is morning. If it is night make sure dog is empty before bedtime. If dog normally has run of house at night or sleeps with you this needs to be changed until behavior is changed even if this means bringing carrier into your roome with food and water and toys and shutting your door. Then take dog out asap when you wake in the morning before you go would be preferable if you want this to work. part of this theroy works on a dog will not ....where it eats as the old saying goes.Make sure the dog knows which toys belong to dog and find some toys that have a place to hide rawhide chews inside that make the dog work to get to them. this will keep the dog busy with the chewing problem and take them away from your items and train to taheir toys. Good luck and this does work. This works with the most difficult to train dogs/pups.  Get a kennel cage, and make him/her stay in there, except when it's time to, eat, go outside and pee. don't let them run around the house, and don't let them come back inside until they go. Then put him/her back into his her kennel.  Dogs will NOT pee in their own living quarters.

It can take a couple weeks or more, but it works.  Once you feel they're ready to try it, let them out during the day, but place them back inside at night.  Make them tell you when they need to go outside(reward them if they do). If they pee any where except outside, immediately put them back into the cage. (This teaches your pet that he/she can stay out and play in the house quarters, provided he/she doesn't go to the bathroom in this environment.)

they finally learn being outside the cage is much more fun and rewarding and will stop peeing in their living quarters, which is your house.

im studying dog physiology and i hope this helps...do not rub your dogs nose in the pee this do nothing..if the dog has no health problems ask yourself about her other behaviour problems if their is a pattern it simply means your dog thinks she is the pack leader in the house you need to reclaim this position i recommend goin to ceaser milans website he is a very helpful and succesful dog wisperer and i think he could help:)

they will always go to a room that you don't use much, so keep those doors closed off.  they will also use any throw rug... so take them up if you can.

ok..wow.. there is a lot of nonsensical crap answers flowing here. First off.. if the dog is not housetrained.. then that needs to be taught first. Second off.. How big is the dog? think small dog, small bladders... they have to go out more often. Also if you relate the amount of water your'e giving your dog all day, verses the size of the bladder.. bingo.. probably if its a small dog, 10 times the size of the things bladder. If you leave, you can take a few ice cubes and put them in the water dish in place of water, then they have enough to have water, but not enough to fill them. Also taking, particularly small dogs, out every hour or two will ensure they dont pee inside.  I have found as well, that crate training a dog is HIGHLY SUCESSFUL!! I know you probably think oh no, I couldnt lock my dog in a cage. But once they realize its THIER very OWN Place, they love the crate, its like a bedroom for them. Plus you can put chew toys, and bones and whatever else in there and know when you leave they aren't destroying your house. DO NOT HIT YOUR DOGS!!! WHOEVER WROTE THAT WAS AN IDIOT>>> YOU DO NOT BEAT DOGS!! TRust me, find something they like, usually food, like chicken, although mine are happy just by the tone of my voice to let them know when they are good. And PS.. If you TELL the DOG youre leaving when you leave, if you make a big deal of it, it makes it much more STRESSFUL on them.. Its better off to calmly say goodbye and give them a chew treat or something to chew on while your gone.

First thing do you crate train her? Second it could be anxiety, they have a spray you can use called Comfort Zone. you would spray a bandana and put it around her neck or comfort collars. They both really work for the anxiety, but Crate training really works also! And saves Carpets!

try keeping her with you at  all times and have a punishment for when she does pee in the house, like putting her outside.

I take my chi out during the day , so as she gets used to going out during the day , she has learned to scratch on the door ! She also uses the Traing pads at night , but take them out once more before bed !

Choosing to bring a new pet into your home is never an easy fact. It's not all about it's price or type, but also it brings some new responsibilities to you - you have to take care of him.

Dogs Will be Dogs and Cats Meow

We should not strive to modify a dog’s natural instinct to bark, or growl or whine, or the cat’s meow. Let the dogs bark and the cats meow, this is how they communicate, just as a baby uses cry before it achieves the ability to speak. Let's all join in and strongly proclaim "Pet Power is in the House”. Thank you. Thank you.
