Having grown up in a house full of dogs, I have seen this type of behavior quite often.  There is a chance that your dog is experiencing some sort of separation anxiety.  This usually happens once a pet is left alone for any period of time.  Keep in mind, even if you are just leaving for a quick trip down the road, your dog has no idea how long you will be gone for.  She may just be trying to reach out to you.
