Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.

Use this Consolidate Your Debt Payment calculator to experiment with different scenarios and develop a plan of action. After doing this I would sit down with a financial planner and the two of you should be able to work out a plan that is best suitable for you.

If you are planning to get rid of your debts then you should go for the debt settlement service. This could probably lower your debts by 50%-55%. Another positive outcome is that you rid yourself from the late fees, over the limit fees and high interest rates creditors imposed by creditors. Last but not least, you can choose a specific time to pay your debts. In other words, you can buy time in order to save money and pay off the creditors

To pay off debt fast, really fast, you can get a second job specifically for that purpose. Whether it is a job doing freelance work, or working at the local convenience store (they always seem to have openings), earmark the money for debt repayment, and don't use it for anything else. If you do, you'll end up having to work two jobs to survive, which defeats the purpose.

The fact that your salary is not enough is the perfect reason to renegotiate your credit card balances with your creditors. Just give them a call and explain the situation. Of course, you will not be able to use the credit cards while paying them and they have the option to cancel at any point. But, you call shows good faith and you would be surprised at how many creditors will entertain the idea of helping you get back on your feet again. When it comes to your mortgage, do not try to do this yourself, you can give information that can get you denied as it is a very tricky process. Best to hire a professional for this task. Good luck!
