Yes I do think they are risking their lives and more. Breaking bones, smashing things...but, I guess some people get an adrenaline rush out of it.

Donna, it is clear that you have never worked with a motorcycle stunt team. I worked with Don Butcher of Calgary until the day he died . . . of a heart attack.

Professional stunt teams hire eggheads like me to crunch numbers and figure out ways to get the most spectacular stunt for the lowest risk. The team works together, one stunt rider, three or four prop riggers, up to ten Class-A CDL drivers, at least one heavy equipment operator, surveyor/physicist, publicist, and manager. We work out the stunts from start to finish, and make sure that it is as safe as human beings can make it.

And it is still extremely dangerous. But at $125,000.00 for a 92' jump, it will attract the sort of overcautious performer who is willing to take that chance. And people will pay dearly to see these stunts. They are an integral part of most spectator motor sports.

When Don died, we found out from his ex wife that he had broken every bone in his body at least once and it was a miracle he lived to the ripe old age of forty.

I am a nurse. No, I am not impressed by things that people do such as breaking every bone in their body and living to the ripe age of 40. I don't know what my future holds but it will never be working with a motorcycle stunt team. If people take these risks they should be prepared to deal with the consequences.

Interesting to find out what you do for a living. Have communicated with you before. I guess there's money in it. Money is what money is.
