How to find the perfect Prom dress

Where can I go shopping for an original Prom dress? I don't want to show up at the Prom and see that anyone else is wearing the same dress as me. My parents gave me a budget, so unfortunately I don't have unlimited funds.

"The Only Way to Get Smarter is by Playing a Smarter Opponent"

I found a place that has gorgeous, unique, and some one of a kind prom dresses, there a little pricey, but  prom only happens once and you'll remember it the rest of your life, and you could always sell the dress to a formal re-sale shop like "once again bridal", or even sell it on ebay or craigslist or wear it to another formal occasion later in life. Here's a few of my fav's from this place (especially the yellow, if you could pull it off you would definetly stand out from a crowd in that dress)!!!...

I'll search, while you Cool wait.

Hi Mary, check out some of these prom dresses too.  Once you click on the link and get to the page, be sure to click "Prom Dresses 2008."  Dresses are there for as low as $79.99.

Try small boutique and wedding shops.  Places like this typically have only one of each dress so you are guranteed to stand out.  They aren't all that much different price wise either then a dress found at a shopping mall.  I got a beautiful one-of-a-kind dress for my senior prom for $250.  This included the alterations.

If you go to a wedding shop there will be a vast assortment of bridesmaid dresses that can easily pass as prom dresses.  They can measure you and order a dress that is just right for you.  Ordering dresses can take time, however, so shop early.

Always look your best because you never know who you're going to meet.

This may sound weird but if you're really looking for something different, and are creative, you can try the Salvation Army or a Goodwill store. They have a small selection of dresses, but you can definitely find a dress that you can alter to your style and make your own (like the movie, Pretty in Pink).

I'm the type of girl who will burst out laughing in dead silence because of something that happened yesterday.

I have to agree with Jennifer. If you're really looking to stand out and look hot and you're on a budget, design your own dress. Go to one of the local thrift shops and find something you can work with. You will be sure to look the hottest and be the envy of the dance!
