I'll tell why I'd LIKE to be in an orgy. Sport sex, multiple partners, watch others, be with others who enjoy sex for sex. I'm not saying those are the same for others who do or would participate.
I think what motivates people into doing it is the will to see other people participating in a sexual act. There is an element of peeping in an orgy.
