Why do people consider Patrick Dempsey hot?

Not exactly my definition of a handsome man either. But he looks like a good guy, maybe that's it. Or maybe he has a good body, I don't know.

I think he's really hot, but the hotness was created by his character in Grey's Anatomy.  I think that the way he looks at Meredith, the way he's the best neurologist, the way he helps people and is always nice to everyone, the way he loves nature... they basically made him into the perfect catch.  On top of that, he has very nice hair, eyes, body, etc.
