Of course. People put others down because they have low self worth, to make them look better than you, they make you look bad in front of others,so people will think they are the important one. These people are easy to fiqure out,and dont keep friends very long, they run them off, because no one wants to hang around someone who thinks they are better than everyone else..it gets old fast, and thats not a friend
