A:lol it's because we have great tasting ice cream here, the New Zealand favorite brand is tip top and has many flavors. As a New Zealand mum I buy it for the kids because it's cheep, a nice treat for the girls.
But most of all it's part of kiwi culture which we call kiwiana.
