Why people in New Zealand eat so much ice cream?

In New Zealand there is a lot of ice cream, like nothing I have seen before. I would say that the weather there isn't that hot to justify such consumption. Anybody has any idea why the people there love ice cream so much?

first of all they do consume a considerable amount , though still less the the u.s.
if you examine food anthropology research findings you will find that there is not always a connection between surroundings and a cultre's "flavor" - meaning it does not have to be very worm for a nation to pick ice cream as it's traditional desert.

one good reason can be New Zealand's quality dairy products, which are in turn the result of a clean environment, year-round grazing on outdoor pasture, a technologically advanced dairy industry, and strict quality and hygiene standards.

2 thumbs up

lol it's because we have great tasting ice cream here, the New Zealand favorite brand is tip top and has many flavors. As a New Zealand mum I buy it for the kids because it's cheep, a nice treat for the girls.

But most of all it's part of kiwi culture which we call kiwiana.
